Product Engineering

All our products are developed to OE standards and optimally designed to achieve maximized performance and durability based on higher grade steel, controlled internal and external geometry, improved load capacity and precision tolerances, while gradually increasing the level of technological complexity towards higher wheel-end systems’ integration
(2nd and 3rd gen wheel hubs).

Manufacturing Practices

PFI combines advanced technology with a lean approach to obtain manufacturing excellence. We count on several automatic bearing and wheel hub production lines, as well as automatic assembly lines and our core processes go from heat treatment to machining, grinding and honing to assembly in sterile controlled environment class 1000, ensuring production of reliable, long life, precision products.

Quality Assurance

At PFI we practice what we preach: strict adherence to best quality practices and controls at all stages: from supplier validation to the manufacturing, assembly and validation processes. Our rigorous quality policy contemplates thorough quality inspection of incoming raw material, advanced tests and measurement during manufacturing and stringent final product validation tests. Our quality labs are provided with a wide range of detection equipment and instruments necessary to check and measure all the required material, dimension and function
parameters (chemical composition, hardness, roughness, internal geometry, roundness, noise and vibration etc).

– PFI Bearings are manufactured according to relevant ABEC, DIN and JIS standards in effect on the date of manufacture.

 

– We use AISI 52100 high strength chrome alloy steel in all inner rings, outer rings, and rolling elements, heat-treated to 60-65 HRC.

Accuracy


Our bearings are manufactured to ABEC 3 (ISO 492 class 6) dimensional tolerances.

Our standard program consists of C3. Other radial clearance tolerances are available by special order.

100% Noise & Vibration Testing


Every PFI ball bearing is electronically tested for noise and vibration according to ANSI/AFBMA Standard 13-1987. Our testing process allows us to check for unwanted noise in the full sound frequency range.

Limiting Speeds

The limiting speed of single row ball bearings is determined by various factors: operating temperature, loads, type and quantity of lubrication, vibration, and type of sealing method.

Premium Greases


PFI Bearings are factory packed with premium greases like SHELL GADUS S2 V100 3, MOBIL POLYREX EM, EXXON RONEX MP, and KYODO-YUSHI ET-K, depending on the type of bearing and application.
